Hot tubs are big, awkward and rarely near the driveway
The hard part of a hot tub is usually the route: side yards, gates, slopes, steps and landscaping between the tub and the truck. So we plan that route with you before moving day.
Send us a photo of the tub and the path out to the street, and tell us where it’s going. That tells us how many movers to send and what equipment to bring.
- Before
- Drained and disconnected by a qualified person
- Moving day
- Out along the route we planned with you
- On its own
- No full move required

Before we arrive
Drain it
Have the tub fully drained before moving day. Water adds a lot of weight.
Disconnect the power
Have a qualified person disconnect the electrical before we arrive.
Clear the path
Open gates, move patio furniture and note any tight spots, steps or slopes along the way.
Plan the landing
Know where the tub is going at the new place, and that the spot is ready for it.
How a hot tub move goes
Plan the route
From your photos we work out the path from the tub to the truck: gate widths, slopes, steps, turns around the house and anything planted in the way.
Prep
You have the tub drained and the power disconnected by a qualified person before we arrive, and clear the path of patio furniture.
Move
The crew takes the tub out along the planned route, onto the truck lift and strapped in place for the drive.
Set down
At the other end it goes where you want it. Have the spot ready, and leave reconnecting the power to a qualified electrician.
What shapes a hot tub quote
- The tub itself. Size and shape decide how many movers we send and whether it fits through your gate.
- The route out. A flat walk to the driveway is very different from a backyard up a slope with steps.
- Where it’s going. Across town, to the other side of the county, or on the truck with the rest of your house.
- The landing spot. The same questions apply at the new place: gates, steps and how far from the truck.
Measure before you call
The most common surprise on a hot tub move is a gate or side yard that’s narrower than the tub. Measure the tub’s length, width and height, then measure the narrowest point on the way out. Send those numbers with your photos and we can tell you quickly how we’d get it out.
Moving the whole house too? Add the hot tub to your local or cross-country quote and it goes on the same job.
Hot tub moving questions
Do I need to drain my hot tub first?
Yes. Have it drained and the power disconnected by a qualified person before we arrive.
Can you move just a hot tub?
Yes. A hot tub is a job on its own, with no full move required.
What do you need to know to quote a hot tub?
A photo of the tub, the route out (gates, slopes, steps and side yards) and where it’s going.
Can you move a hot tub along with the rest of our house?
Yes. List it when you request your moving quote and we’ll plan it into the same job.
Will you hook the hot tub back up?
We set it in place. Reconnecting the electrical should be done by a qualified electrician.
